A hybrid game is a game that combines a physical and digital component. At BOTTA, the physical component is the special playing cards, and the digital component is our app, which allows for a unique hybrid gaming experience!
BOTTA is played 1-on-1 (duel) or 2-on-2 (team). To play, simply purchase a BOTTA (box containing two games and accessories) and download our free app. With your game, you'll find a booklet that explains everything! You can also check out the rules on our website or our YouTube channel @botta.club.
On average, a game lasts between 10 and 15 minutes, but it all depends on your speed and level of play. In BOTTA, like in football, there are extra time and penalty shootouts in the event of a tie, which can extend your matches.
The game is suitable for ages 7 and up! The only difficulty lies in the mental arithmetic, as removing cards from your opponent sometimes requires some addition. However, it's also a fun way to introduce mental arithmetic, and we've found that younger children are able to play. This fun aspect makes it a game that's very popular with parents ;)
To play Botta, you don't need the app. However, you lose the hybrid aspect of the game, that is, the virtual referee who calculates the scores, counts the rounds, distributes cards, etc. The rules of the game without apps (almost similar to those with) are explained in the booklet provided with each purchase.
Each purchase includes a rule booklet with a QR code and an application installation address printed on it. Our application is a "Web-App" which means that there is no need to go through the stores to install the application. Simply follow the link provided and save the application to your smartphone's home screen to launch it without the navigation bar being displayed.
To play Botta, each player (1vs1) or team (2vs2) must have a Botta with a different back from the opponent's in order to find their way around the redistribution of cards (which are shuffled during the game). We therefore sell two styles of card games, a dark one and a light one (a sort of home and away jersey game) to allow 2 or 4 players to play in all conditions.
Allow 3 to 7 days maximum (metropolitan France) after validation of the order. 7 to 15 days maximum (outside metropolitan France).
